Join us to to discover Xochimilco, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and a protected natural reserve, with a passionate guide and in a completely different way.
In this tour, we will explore the natural area of Xochimilco observing the local fauna and flora that have inhabited this lake for millennia. Learn all about the legends and the pre-Hispanic past of Xochimilco, including traditional cultivation methods on chinampas. If you wish, you can take a brief demonstration of cultivation in “chapín” and a workshop on criollo corn tortillas (subject to availability and at an additional cost).

WHAT WE´LL DO?
Pick up at your location and departure to Xochimilco (32 km). Upon arrival we will take a colorful boat called “Trajinera" to relax, enjoy the landscape over the canals observing the local fauna and flora that evolved specially to inhabit this lake. Our guide will explain you the history and past of the place and we will have breakfast or lunch in a Chinampa (artificial pre hispanic land) where a local family will explain us the crop technique (chapín) and culture around this unique spot. You will have the chances to have a corn tortilla workshop (subject to availability and at an additional cost).
Afterwards, return to Mexico City.
