Downtown street food and murals: flavor & culture
Mexico City is a territory with a very rich history and where, since the arrival of the Spanish conquerors, one of the most interesting cultural mixes and shocks in Latin America has occurred.
Likewise, Mexico is a country where its gastronomy is directly related to its history and that emanates day by day in its culture. We can see the inheritance of the pre-Hispanic era, the viceregal legacy and its transformation in the following centuries, through many dishes and customs, and in the reinterpretation of all that past until today.
In this tour we offer an approach to culture from a fun and entertaining gastronomic perspective. At the same time we would like this project to help the improvement of the local economy, making alliances with local family vendors.

DOWNTOWN STREET FOOD AND MURALS
We’ll visit the beating heart of Mexico City, looking at it through the lens of its Aztec origins, to the 21st century. Put yourself in the hands of an expert local guide as we delight in the taste of street food with pre-Hispanic origins, and delicious tacos de canasta!
We will also immerse ourselves in the world of the post-revolutionary artistic movement called Muralism, where several of the most prominent Mexican painters created their masterpieces.
Come and see Mexico City from a new perspective!

We joined Clara on the Downtown Flavor & Culture on our second day in Mexico City and could not have asked for a better introduction to this beautiful city. The tour was the perfect mix of fascinating history, delicious street food (which Clara arranged to be vegetarian and vegan for our party), and in-depth cultural knowledge from our guide. Clara tailored the tour for our interests that included architecture, art, and literature; she is a thoughtful guide who did not overlook details that made the tour comfortable like stopping to speak in the shade, pausing for water breaks, and taking photos of our party during the tour. Highly recommend for both first-visitors to Mexico City or those wanting to learn more on return visits!
