Teotihuacan cradle of the gods – Half day tour

Teotihuacan cradle of the gods – Half day tour

per person

The Pre-Hispanic City of Teotihuacan was one of the largest urban centers in the ancient world, which reached a population of more than 100,000 inhabitants at its peak. Located in a valley rich in natural resources, it was the seat of power of one of the most influential Mesoamerican societies in the political, economic, commercial, religious and cultural spheres, whose features permanently marked the peoples of the Mexican highlands, passing time and reaching us with the same strength and greatness with which its builders planned it.

If you are coming to Mexico City, Teotihuacan is an essential visit!

TEOTIHUACAN HALF DAY TOUR

Early pick up at your accommodation (8.30 am) and departure to Teotihuacan Pyramids (53 km), located in the north of Mexico City. Our tour begins through the roadside of the Dead, the main axis of the entire pre-Hispanic city. In this way we will get to know the central area of the city and its main monumental architectural complexes, such as La Ciudadela or the Gran Conjunto.

Later we will pass through the amazing Pirámide del Sol architectural complex and we will know more about how this city was created and the importance for the rest of antique cultures in Mesoamerica. At the end of the road of the Dead and looking north, the imposing Pyramid of the Moon rises and was the place where the ceremonies to the water goddess Chalchiutlicue were celebrated.

After the visit you will have some free time to eat some snacks in the area or have lunch at La gruta Restaurant where you will get the chance to taste dishes that mix local cuisine ingredients with pre-Hispanic culinary heritage in a spacious cavity of volcanic origin.

Return to your accommodation at 2.30 pm aprox.

I highly recommend booking a tour of Teotihuacán with Rumbos Experiences. We visited the pyramids for my birthday, leaving Mexico City around 8am. Clara arranged transportation and picked us up from our hotel — we didn’t have to worry about a thing the entire day! She also arranged a breakfast reservation at La Gruta before our tour which was one of our favorite dining experiences during the entire trip. We learned so much and felt totally immersed in the experience of Teotihuacán! We will be back with friends and family to tour with Rumbos.
