DAY 1. MERIDA AIRPORT - MERIDA CITY
Arrival and transfer to the hotel in the city of Mérida (11 km), an imposing colonial city, where you can learn about the Yucatecan customs, the joy of its people and the beauty of its colonial streets through a guided tour if the arrival time of your flight allows it. If not, we will offer you a night panoramic or change the walking tour for the next day. Accommodation.
DAY 2. MERIDA CITY - CELESTÚN NATIONAL RESERVE - TASTING DINNER
Early departure in private transport to the Celestun Nature Reserve (107 km), located on the western coast of the Yucatan peninsula. The place stands out for being a migratory center for groups of pink flamingos, as well as hosting one of the largest mangrove areas in the area. We will take a boat tour to see these colorful birds. Free time on the beach of Celestun for lunch and return to the hotel. At night we will have a Yucatecan food tasting dinner in The Museo de la Gastronomía Yucateca, with an explanatory tour about the traditional Mayan houses, the products of the region and their gastronomic and medicinal uses. DÍA 3. MÉRIDA CITY - CAMPECHE CITY
Breakfast and departure to the city of Campeche (180 km), declared a World Heritage Site. Upon arrival, panoramic tour of the City of Campeche, a port city known for its baroque colonial buildings, its military architecture and its historic walled district. To cope with pirate attacks, the city was fortified in the 17th century. Two of the forts that crown the hill are museums today. The San Miguel fort houses the Archaeological Museum of Campeche, with Mayan artifacts from local sites such as Edzná, Calakmul and Isla Jaina. DAY 4. MÉRIDA - UXMAL ARCHEOLOGICAL SITE - HENEQUEN HACIENDA (NIGHT)
Breakfast and departure to the archaeological site of Uxmal (121 km), an ancient Mayan city of the classical period and one of the most important archaeological sites in the so-called Puuc area, with representations of linked snakes, masks of the rain god Chaac and feathered snakes. There are also influences of Nahua origin and the following of the cult of Quetzalcóatl and Tláloc that were integrated with the original bases of the Puuc tradition. After the visit, departure to a restored henequen Hacienda, where we will learn about the boom that this manufacture had until the beginning of the 20th century through a tour with historical explanations and the processes of making henequen fiber. DAY 5. CAMPECHE - IZAMAL - CHICHÉN ITZÁ
Breakfast. Free time at the Hacienda until check out and departure to Izamal, a beautiful colonial city founded in the mid-16th century on the remains of an ancient Mayan city. This place is known as "City of the Hills", recalling the covered pyramids that were there when the Spaniards arrived, as well as "The City of the Three Cultures" because it combines features of its pre-Hispanic past, of the colonial period and of the present time. We will take a tour of its historic center, then free time for lunch and walk through its streets and contemplate its picturesque yellow buildings, Continuation of the trip to the Chichén Itzá area, check in at the hotel and free time until departure to the site. DAY 6. CHICHÉN ITZÁ AREA - MERIDA AIPORT
